Zambia and Ethiopia will cash in the opening Group C match on January 21 in Nelspruit, South Africa.
Known as the “Walia Antelopes”, Ethiopia are making their first appearance at the continental championship for the first time in 31 years.
It was the Tunisians that led 1-0 at half-time after Darragi scored from a penalty spot just 4 minutes into the game.
Ethiopia’s equalizer came from ace striker Saladin Said in the 64th minute, after he received a pass from Shimeles Bekele.
Apart from being drawn with African champions, Zambia, Ethiopia will face Nigeria and Burkina Faso in the same pool. Tunisia is in Group D with Ivory Coast, Togo and Algeria.
Zambia play Morocco in a friendly tomorrow. The Herve Renard coached side has lost three international friendlies since December on the road to defend the title. Chipolopolo lost 2-1 to Saudi Arabia. 1-0 to Tanzania and succumbed 2-0 to Angola last Saturday.
The team will after the Morocco friendly also face Norway and Namibia to conclude the preparations ahead of the competition.
