UPND Raise Vote-Buying Alarm in Mpongwe

UPND secretary general Winstone Chibwe has insisted that the PF is allegedly conducting vote buying in Mpongwe ahead of the bye-election.

Chibwe said the party has tangible evidence that PF has bought over 500 cards from Mpongwe residents and that this is detrimental to Zambia’s democracy.

But PF spokesperson Chanda Mfula said the UPND has only realised that they have no support on the ground and resolved to create falsehood.

Mfula said UPND knows that they will not win and started to make accusations against government to cover up on their unpopularity.

Meanwhile, the Zambia Direct Democracy Movement president Edwin Sakala has said despite President Sata claiming allergy to corruption, he is addicted to electoral corruption.

Sakala said the PF government has been abusing public resources at will during the bye-elections and wondered why they still talk about curbing corruption.
