A Lusaka police officer has beaten a nurse at Levy Mwanwasa hospital.
A nurse identified as Kabungo was assaulted by two patients, one of them a police officer identified as a Mr Phiri.
Hospital spokesperson Mwenya Mulenga confirmed the assault saying management has lodged a complaint with the Inspector General of Police office against the officer.
“We condemn this in very strong terms especially one of them is a senior police officer.
We will launch a complaint with the Inspector General of Police against him so that this thing of beating up medical officers can come to an end,” he said.
This comes merely a few days after a medical doctor was beaten by a relative to a patient who thought she was delaying to attend t o their sick relative.
