Vice President Guy Scott has confirmed the PF quandary and that they will decide at a later stage.
This is despite a little noise that the government raised on the removal of former president Banda’s immunity that has not attracted public sympathy.
Government decided to raise the issue of Banda’s immunity after the former president was chosen to lead a team of election monitors for the upcoming general elections under the former US president, Jimmy Carter Foundation in Kenya.
Bangweulu Member of Parliament Chifita Matafwali asked government leaders as to when they intended to present the motion for the removal of the immunity of former president Banda.
In response, Dr Scott said currently government is not ready to present the motion and that they will update the nation on the issue in due course.
Recently, chief government spokesperson Kennedy Sakeni admitted that government does not have any facts on which they could base the removal of Banda’s immunity.
The Vice-President also said government will only make a decision on the national referendum to adopt the constitution after holding the national convention.
