Police probe source financing Barotse activists

Police have launched investigations to establish the source of funding used to transport hundreds of people to attend the recent Barotse National Council (BNC) meeting which resolved that Western Province should secede from the rest of Zambia.

According to the Times of Zambia, huge sums of money were spent by some opposition politicians who wanted to take advantage of the situation to win popularity.

The sources confirmed that police were investigating to establish the suppliers of funding for the hire of several trucks and buses used to transport youths who were still camped in Limulunga several days after the meeting closed.
