President Michael Sata this morning made his first public appearance since returning from India when he led a number of government officials to sign the book of condolence at the Malawian High Commission for the late president Mbingu Wa Mutharika who died last Thursday.
The President signed the book of condolences at about 10:50 hours and was followed by the Vice-President Dr Guy Scott.
In his message of condolences, President Sata urged the people of Malawi to remain strong during this trying moment.
The President did not however take question from journalists, but headed back to State House shortly afterwards.
PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba also conveyed the party’s deepest sympathy to the people of Malawi.
