Police this afternoon picked up former president Rupiah Banda’s son Andrew from the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport for questioning.
An officer who sought anonymity disclosed that Andrew was picked up from the airport around 14:00 hours upon arrival from India where he is serving as a diplomat.
Joint team of investigators spokesperson Charity Chanda said Andrew was summoned to come to Zambia to help with investigation in the alleged corruption activities involving the past government.
Chanda also clarified that Andrew was not arrested but merely summoned to the former task force office for questioning.
“He is coming back tomorrow at 09:00 hours at the former Task Force on corruption. We are calling him for investigations. I will give you the details tomorrow. Just know he is in the country to help with investigations. The rest of the details I will give them to you tomorrow,” Chansa said.
