Queen Elizabeth II has awarded the Order of the British Empire (MBE) to Cynthia Zukas, the wife of veteran politician Simon Zukas.
According to a statement, Cynthia has been awarded in recognition for her contribution to the development of visual arts and to charitable work. Member of the Order of the British Empire [MBE] honours are given at an annual event in London to people from all walks of life and all sections of society who have made a difference to their community. British High Commissioner to Zambia, James Thornton, said he was happy that the Queen had recognised the services of Cynthia in promoting visual art in Zambia and internationally.
“Mrs. Zukas deserves the award as her hard work in the development of the arts has touched many people and received national and international recognition,” High Commissioner Thornton said.
