UPND Condemns Sacking of Justice Minister

The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) says the dismissal of Sebastian Zulu as justice minister is a great loss to the PF government.

UPND member Edwin Lifwekelo says it is unfortunate that President Sata fired Zulu because he was one of the sober ministers in the PF government.

Lifwekelo says it is a known fact that Zulu’s dismissal is arising from the tribunal that was set up to deal with the suspended judges in order to protect President Sata’s friends – Fred M’membe and Mutembo Nchito – from paying a public debt.

Lifwekelo, according to QFM, says reports are that Zulu was dismissed because he refused to go against rules.

He says the step taken by the head of state is an element of dictatorship, adding that Zambians should expect more from him.

On Friday, President Mr. Sata revoked the appointment of Mr. Zulu as minister of Justice.
