AfCON 2013 Opponent Watch: Nigeria Gets Full House for Venezuela Friendly

Zambia’s Group C rivals at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria, have recorded a full house for tonight’s friendly against Venezuela in the United States of America.

While African champions Zambia will engage South Africa at Soccer City in Johannesburg tonight, Nigeria will be busy against Venezuela in Miami, Florida.

Zambia will have to do with the absence of Rainford Kalaba, the Nigerians have all they called for their preparatory match.

New boys Shola Ameobi and Bright Dike were the final arrivals on Monday night at the Super Eagles’ Intercontinental Hotel lodgings in Miami, Florida, Kickoffnigeria reports.

Ameobi and Dike players did not take part in the team’s first training session on Monday but Stephen Keshi has had an opportunity to assess the two players.

A squad of players from the domestic league travelled on Sunday night from Nigeria led by NFF president Aminu Maigari and have been joined by those from foreign leagues.

Nigeria, the 1994 Africa Cup winners, missed the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations at which the Zambians bagged their first continental prize.
