The Road Development Agency (RDA) and National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) say they will increase the number of road construction projects awarded to local companies.
RDA chief executive officer Bernard Chiwala and NRFA acting director Emmanuel Kaunda said this in a joint statement.
The two organisations have noted that they will support local contractors to undertake road construction projects under a tripartite agreement.
They said this is in view of the massive investment that government is intending to release for the construction of roads in the country.
The duo said the local contractors will be required to have capital equipment and manpower to carry out projects in a competent manner.
