President Sata’s Sleepless Nights in Ethiopia

President Michael Sata must be having a sleepless night in Ethiopia after lodging in at the hotel where his councillor failed to pay a US $2,000 bill on alcoholic beverages.

The councillor, Chiutuko Nkhoma, had gone to Ethiopia on duty in a delegation led by Lusaka Mayor Daniel Chisenga.

After failing to settle the bill, the Ethiopian government intervened and cleared it. He has since been suspended.

President Sata who travelled to Ethiopia to attend the 20th Ordinary Summit of the African Union has been booked in Sheraton Hotel which evokes memories of shame and embarrassment from his councillor.

Upon arrival, President Sata was received by Ethiopian Water and Energy Minister and was led to Sheraton Hotel where he will be lodging for the duration of the summit.
