The Lusaka magistrate has set free three suspects in the ritual murder of NIPA student Ruth Mbandu.
Magistrate Betty Malupenga set the three suspects who included a clergyman after receiving instructions from the Director of Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito to enter a nolle prosequi.
Among those released are Emmanuel Serenje, Jordan Kapenda and Pastor Evans Ngulube.
Magistrate Malupenga, however, noted the trio is can be re-arrested on fresh instructions when new evidence surfaces.
The matter has been pending in the magistrate’s court while awaiting committal to the High Court for trial.
