FDD Blames PF Senior Officials on UPND Violence

The Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) says the violence that ensued at the UNPD rally in Kabwata last weekend emanated from the PF senior party officials.

FDD spokesperson Antonio Mwanza says no political party cadre can attack perceived political opponents without the blessings of his superiors.

Mwanza has since called on the PF leadership to show leadership on issues of political violence and ensure that they engage in issue based politics.

He says Zambians detest the shedding of blood of fellow citizens for political expedience and that the violence trend has to be denounced once and for all.

Mwanza says political leaders must realize that violence has never been an answer to various issues of concern and that the only answer is dialogue.

He says perpetrators of violence must not be given room to be at the helm of the country as they do not mean well for the country.

But PF Lusaka province chairman Geoffrey Chuumbwe recently told Qfm news that his party has resolved to engage in peaceful campaigns and that at no time have they resorted to violence.
