Kabimba Promises Development for Barotseland

BarotselandJustice Minister Wynter Kabimba has asked the Lozi people of Western Province not to despair with the delay by the PF government to honour promises made during the 2011 general election campaigns.

Speaking on Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) Lozi dialect programme, Kabimba who is also PF Secretary General said the government was still committed to taking development to Western Province.

He said PF was grateful for the support it received from the Lozis and that government would reciprocate by taking development to the Province.

Kabimba asked the residents to support to development agenda which he said government had already embarked on.

President Michael Sata requires the support of all Zambians in order to govern this country better. Therefore, I ask the people of Western province to support the development programmes that have already been embarked on,” Kabimba said on the vernacular programme.

He named cited the construction of a modern football stadium and a University as some of the programmes that government was focussing on.

“Apart from that the PF government will finish the Mongu-Kalabo and Senanga-Sesheke road before the 2016 general elections,” he said.

Western Province has been calling for secession from Zambia as part of the 1964 Barotseland agreement which the PF government promised to honour during campaigns.
