MP’s UPND Future Bleak

United Party for National Development (UPND) has given a three day ultimatum to Itezhi tezhi member of parliament Greyford Monde to exculpate himself for embarrassing the party after accepting a ministerial position from President Michael Sata.

President Sata handpicked Monde, regarded as a weak link in the UPND, and offered him a position as deputy minister for agriculture.

The UPND National Management Committee (NMC) has issued an ultimatum after suspending him from the party and failure to respond to the charges will eventually confirm his expulsion.

Monde is charged for disturbilising the party, bringing the party into disrepute and issuing unauthorized statements contrary to party regulations.

Party deputy secretary general Kuchumba Simusamba announced the suspension saying Monde’s motive has been questionable and meant at injuring the good image of UPND.
