Fire Guts Passenger Bus

Bus FireA Mazhandu Bus Service passenger bus has caught fire in Southern Province, three weeks after a fateful accident involving a Post Bus that claimed the lives of over 50 people.

Today’s accidents happened a few minutes ago on the Zimba-Kalomo Road, just about 50 kilometres north of the tourist capital, Livingstone.

More than 60 people escaped unhurt as fire swept through one of the country’s most respected private passenger bus service.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

Three weeks ago, a Post bus collided with a truck on the Great North Road in Chibombo claiming several lives to be recorded as one of the worst road accidents in the history of Zambia
