Warriors Move To Neutralise Attempts To Block Kamanga From Contesting FAZ Post

KamangaKabwe Warriors are moving a step ahead to clear the way for the candidature business magnate Andrew Kamanga for the FAZ presidency.

With indications that FAZ plans to block Kamanga’s candidature by questioning his eligibility Kabwe Warriors has written to FAZ providing a record of the time he served on their committee as committee member and chairman.

FAZ is seeking to use Article 24 (11:1) which states, “Candidates for offices of President and Vice President shall be Zambians with at least five years experience in football administration, in full executive capacity at members’ level.”

According to a letter to FAZ general secretary George Kasengele Kabwe Warriors chairman Hayden Dingwall said Kamanga had served the club from 2008 to 2010 as a committee member and served as chairman from 2010 to 2013.

“Please note that the above named (Kamanga) served on the Kabwe Warriors executive committee as follows, 2008 to 2010 committee member and 2010 to 2013 as chairman,” stated Dingwall.

“Should you require any further details please feel free to contact the undersigned.”

Kamanga also served on the committees of Kitwe United and Power Dynamos.

The football family will hold elections on March 19 with third term seeking President Kalusha Bwalya facing a challenge from Kamanga.
