UNZA Meets Some Conditions for Re-opening

UNZAThe University of Zambia has gone some measure in meeting some of the conditions set by Higher Education Minister Michael Kaingu for the re-opening of the institution that was closed on February 3.

Kaingu spelt out some benchmarks for the institution to meet before re-opening with the students requiring signing commitment forms upon return that they will not indulge in violence, expel those identified as ring leaders, implement stringent security measures in terms of entry into campus among other conditions.

Public relations officer at UNZA Damaseke Chibale said that so far they had put up security lights across campus with the additional recruitment of more security officers.

UNZA and the Copperbelt University are set to re-open on April 24 with the status meal allowances that Kaingu announced that they had been scrapped off unclear.
