UNZA Finally Re-opens Amid New Security Measures

unza2The University of Zambia will finally get back to academic business after a more than two months forced closure.

Returning students will have to pay K245 damage for the riots that caused the closure and an additional K85 for new identification cards that will have additional security features.

The charge is restricted to regular students who are on government sponsorship although students are charged caution fee annually covering the eventuality of unrest in campus.

Students will also be expected to sign commitment forms that they will not engage in riotous behaviour.

The university has also mounted additional security cameras to beef up security.
