The Football Association of Zambia has given a long shot at reviving the thinned chances of qualification to the 2017 Africa Cup by writing to the Confederation of African Football over the 3-2 loss to Guinea Bissau.
FAZ general secretary Ponga Liwewe has written to CAF over the manner Algerian officials handled the match and also the reports about Guinea Bissau using an ineligible player.
Guinea Bissau beat Zambia 3-2 with some observers raising issue with the manner the West Africans won the match while the last gasp goal beyond the requisite additional time raised debate.
The loss subsequently ended Zambia’s chances of making it among the 16 elite teams on the continent but a boardroom decision could revive the Chipolopolo’s chances.
Zambia had the benefit of a boardroom decision when it got three points off Sudan in the race for the 2014 World Cup when they got points off the latter.
