The conciliatory process between former Republican President Rupiah Banda and Rainbow Party president Wynter Kabimba with Fred M’membe has formally taken shape in the Lusaka Magistrate Court.
Banda had sued the duo for contempt of court for articles that ran in The Post Newspapers over the former’s court cases but has indicated that he will withdraw the case in the spirit of reconciliation.
When the matter came up in court, Banda’s lawyer Jonas Zimba told the court that his client had directed him to withdraw the matter.
Zimba told the court that the defendants had yet to be officially notified of the decision.
Magistrate Kenneth Mulife adjourned the matter to August 16.
