Police Okays PF Youths Security Offer

The Zambia police have said that Patriotic Front youths are welcome to help with providing security as the law enforcement agencies fight to combat spontaneous cases of suspected arson.

Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said that anybody was welcome to help the police as long as their actions were within the law.

The torching of some markets and damage to public places has been attributed to lapses in the security system.
“If the PF youths want to come on board and say they want to help with security then they are well come. We will allow them as long as they stick to the law,” Katongo said.

The burning of City Market put the country on alert of damage to public property after having employed a lukewarm approach in earlier incidences.

Party cadres must not become part of the police. It is a bad decision. The police is giving PF cadres a leeway to abuse others in the pretext of curbing arson. If the police is serious about safety PF cadres must not be part of the police.

One tends to wonder as to what has happened to kanganja and his police force. How can cadres be allowed to be part of the police, what training of policing have they undergone?.I’m almost made to believe the assumption that PF trained militia and these are the lads who are now being incorporated in the police.Mama katongo this is now legalising criminality. Many jobless youths will join in looting and disturbing innocent people. To make matters worse Pf has a target already Upnd.I would rather suggest you team up with armcor, G3 or any other guard wings than pf with its appetite of squeezing Upnd.Think otherwise before you add more logs.

In that case then let them swap roles.Police to become PF cadres and the cadres to take over ZP.

The people who were supporting political pronouncement can now see how foolish their support has been.
If they can’t see it up to this time….then ‘ Kaya’ as Rikki Ililonga would say.
If Jesus were to come today he would say you have eyes but you can’t see.
Someone else would say ‘religion is opium for the people.’I say:
      Tribalism blinds people from reasoning.
The same people who are being fooled are the ones to suffer.

The police should withdraw this statement forthwith. It is very WRONG to allow cadres to be part of police. This will turn into UNIP’s vigilante.

Apart from Upnd do we have other opposition parties who can oppose to these bad decisions which about to happen in our country ? Are they scared of also being arrested and put behind bars ? Or is it that slowly without realising we are no longer in multi party type of politics. We need to know what happened to city market and people behind these acts and not yo recruitment of those cadres. Madam have u ever in your lifetime been subjected to ukutumpa kwama cadres , i can assure that when that times comes u will even find it difficult to mention the word cadre.

Another wrong decision by the police. You can not allow a cadre to be part of police. I advise the police to withdraw that statement right away. When you go to train as a police person there are rules and regulations that one has to abide with. Unless you are telling us that to be a police officer takes even a person having not gone through normal traing, which is not the case. Under a multiparty system this should never be encouraged, because already you are showing biaseness. I have always said, even making someone a police spokes-person must be of sober mind not every police officer fits to be a spokes person for the service. This applies to many fields. You need well vested and mature individuals to be spokespersons, the more reason in Zambia now it has become a profession.
