The drama around National Democratic Congress leader Chishimba Kambwili’s arrest by police outdid itself today with the Roan lawmaker discharged from CFB Hospital and taken straight to Woodlands Police Station.
Kambwili was taken to the police upon being discharged from hospital with law enforcement officers taking him away.
The Roan Member of Parliament was taken to court where he was detained before falling ill with a charge of 37 counts of receiving money believed to be proceeds of crime in the sum of over K5 million and two counts of taking pecuniary advantage.
Kambwili’s matter has failed to take off with the accused taken to the University Teaching Hospital after his court appearance.
Opposition political leaders led by UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema rendered solidarity with Kambwili by escorting him to court.
