Chembo Ditches Zesco United After Nkana Win

Tenant Chembo has decided he has had enough at 2017 Super League champions Zesco United by quitting the club hours after their 1-0 win over Nkana.

Chembo has steered d the Zesco United ship to the CAF Champions League Group Stage and also kept the club’s reputation intact in the domestic league but has been maintained as assistant coach.

The long serving assistant coach has not been discreet about his desire to be handed the top job but the club has not been forthcoming making it clear they are looking for a head coach.

Chembo will take up the vacant role at rivals Buildcon that has been left by Italian trainer Arena Gulglieumo.

Zesco beat Nkana 1-0 in Chembo’s final game as head coach at Nkana Stadium.

Ndola – 8 April, 2018 – ZESCO United Football Club has parted company with the Club’s Interim Coach Tenant Chembo. The coach announced his resignation today after the game involving Zesco and Nkana Football Clubs in Kitwe.

The club wishes Tenant Chembo all the best in his future endeavours.

The team and fans will be informed of the new appointment on Tuesday, 10 April 2018
