Police Arrests 3 Illegal Land Bussinessmen

Police in Kitwe have arrested three people in connection with illegal land allocations in Kitwe’s Garneton area.

The three who are members of an organisation called Luyando Community Society were rounded up by police after a tip off from members of the public.

The three who have been identified as Martin Mwamba secretary of the Organisation, John Mwanza and Berry Muwaya are alleged to have been engaged in illegal land allocations the Kitwe City Council’s 40 hectares of land reserved for the land fill in Garneton.

Kitwe City Council Assistant Public Relations Manager Beauty Undi confirmed the development stating that the accused have been engaging in such activities for a long time.

She said the suspects have since been detained in police custody and will appear in court soon.
