Moonga Chilimba and Zambia national soccer team striker Friday Samu were on song as they helped Green Buffaloes to a 2-0 win over Green Eagles in a week six fixture of the MTN/FAZ Super League fixture.
With the win, their 5th in six fixtures, the Zambia Army sponsored side have gone top of the Super League table on 16 points, three better than second placed Zesco United who dislodged Kitwe side Power Dynamos on Saturday afternoon.
United came from a goal down to beat Dynamos 2-1 at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium thanks to second half brace from man of the match Lazarous Kambole who cancelled out Kelvin Kampamba’s first half strike.
The Ndeke boys drop to third position and are above Zanaco who have 12 points with two games in hand.
Kabwe Warriors jumped from 7th to 5th after recording their third straight win in the league by beating Lusaka Dynamos 1-0 at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu stadium in Kabwe, a loss which condemned Dynamos to 11th place from 8th.
Nkana smashed Lumwana Radiants at 3-0 to go 6th, with Bornwell Mwape, Idris Mbombo and an own goal from Allan Kapila getting the goals for Beston Chambeshi’s side.
In the other games captured across different stadia, a new look Napsa Stars came from two goals down to force a home draw against Buildcon FC.
Clifton Miheso’s well struck freekick and a goal by Fahad Bayo were cancelled out by a Simon Nkhata brace.
Mixed results were recorded in Southern province as Nakambala Leopards made use of their homeground advantage to beat Red Arrows 1-0 while New Monze Swallows suffered third defeat in five matches following a 1-0 loss against Forest Rangers.
Action continues on Sunday when Kitwe United entertains Nkwazi and Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy host Nchanga Rangers.
