U20 Trade Fire with Junior Flames

The Zambia Under-20 National Team will engage Malawi this afternoon (Sunday) at Nkoloma Stadium in the first of two international friendly matches they will play ahead of the first leg, final round qualifier against Burundi on July 14 for the Niger 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Coach Charles Bwale will lead the African champions at Nkoloma Stadium against the junior flames hoping to sharpen his arsenals before they do duty against Burundi.

Zambian fans will have a look at their team before it takes on the heavier responsibility of securing Africa Cup of Nations qualification in Niger.

Skipper Prince Mumba may have to watch from the side lines after sustaining an ankle injury on club duty but the team is not short of leaders with goalie Prince Bwalya expected to take the mantle of the captaincy.

The skeleton of the team may be hinged on the defensive solidity of Christopher Katongo and Kingsley Hakwiya with Justin Mwanza also expected to start.

In midfield Thomas Zulu could the man to stead the ship Benson Kolala while upfront the proficiency of Francisco Mwepu and James Chilimina could be the partnership that Bwale may rely with.

Lameck Banda, Martin Njobvu and Albert Kangwanda are also expected to play a crucial role in ensuring that Zambia carries the day.

Kickoff is at 15:00 hours with tickets pegged at K20 for open wing while the VIP ticket will attract a K50 charge.

Zambia will next weekend engage South Africa in the final phase of practice matches.
