U17 Face Mozambique in Cosafa Opener

The Zambia Under-17 national team commence their Cosafa Castle Cup title defence with a tie against the junior mambas of Mozambique.

Coach Tenant Chilumba will be hoping to make a strong start at the tournament with his lads having been oozing confidence since their arrival in Mauritius on Sunday morning.

Skipper Alex Mwiinga of Kascoal Rangers will have to inspire his teammates to step up their game and match their champion status.

Having gone through a rigorous selection process the lads will be confident that they are the chosen ones to lead the country to another prospective glorious outing.

Upfront Young Zesco United forward Enock Sakala junior has been often the channel through which the attack has been moulded with Collins Tembo also fitted in the attack.

However, the first match could prove how much work has been done in forging a strong side.

Mozambique defeated Zambia last year 1-0 in the final group match with then coach Numba Mumamba fielding a second string side after having already qualified to the semi-finals.

KickoffIP for the match is at 12:30 hours local time (10:30 hours Zambian time) with the tournament broadcast live by pay television channel Kwese Sports.
