Lusambo Trashes Sampa’s Kidnap Story

Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has lived up to his ‘no nonsense’ reputation by saying antics by Lusaka Mayor Miles Sampa that he had been kidnapped were not true.

Lusambo, whose sweep of Lusaka clean of every vice has endeared him to the hard to please Lusaka constituents and would not doubt be taken seriously with his dismissal of Sampa’s cry-wolf antics.

Sampa had the BBC global audience attuned to his kidnapping story with alarming tweeter feed that the read as follows:

“To the illegal plots sellers who ambushed me yesterday, I know you and know those that sent you. This is how I will be reporting for field and office work. In case the Police delay in protecting me, I am equal to the task. See you when you come again.”

I have been alerted to a news story doing rounds on international media platforms regarding a statement issued by His Worship the Mayor of Lusaka Councillor Miles Sampa to the effect that he was kidnapped by some known elements while undertaking his official duties in the City.

As Lusaka Province Minister, I feel duty bound to set the record straight and allay any fears that Lusaka might be unsafe for residents and visitors unlike. I wish to state that our beautiful City remains peaceful as ever and our law enforcement agencies have continued conducting their normal duties. There is and there has never been any cause for alarm. There is no case of kidnapping filed by anyone at any police station in Lusaka or anywhere else across the country.

The country that His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu is governing is peaceful, stable and everyone can freely move across this beautiful country. As a Capital City, we mirror the entire aspirations of the nation and it is important that the international community continues to view Lusaka as a haven of peace as it has always been known.

Our resolve is to keep attracting local and international investors to Lusaka in our unwavering pursuit for job creation and prosperity for all.

It is therefore important that I forthwith distance the good people of this great City of Lusaka from the narrative that could be created with this episode.

For us in leadership, we have a moral duty to portray exemplary traits that do not betray the collective trust and faith that our people have placed in us.

I Thank You

keep on fighting each other until 2021,miles Samoa I think is not with to be a mayor but a thug, yesterday he was captured posing with a gun threatening people, today he is saying I was kidnapped intact he is a man it should be mannapped, his character his not worth to be a leader

  4. Truth man

This chap called the mayor of Lusaka and even campaigned for by the President! Has he got any morals ?I think he is disgracing the people who voted for him. Why can’t he settle down and quietly do his work. They say’ empty tins’ make too much noise! There is too much work that is pending in Lusaka and if he is a hard worker as portrayed by his supporters, he is supposed to be spending more time planning and executing these plans. The people of Lusaka deserve better.

  5. King cool

How can he plan the city if he is not going through the whole city. You can only plan upon seeing the pictures of the area. Sampa carry on. Don’t be afraid of the people who are not interested in the future of our loved Zambia. We need good plan. This is a capital city

ahh nchito yaoneka on national guidance I will guide lusambo and sampa not to enter the boxing ring, remember I advised Zodwa to be wearing knickers

What we want is to see Lusaka clean and everything in place. Sampa control your emotions. If not then you have to resign. We have so many people in PF who can work hard and control their emotions.
