BELOW IS A LIST OF DEMANDS BY THE OPPOSITION

1. Reject the voting machine imposed by the CENI in breach of election law;
2. Purge the electoral rolls in order to identify and remove the approximately 10 million voters registered without fingerprints;
3. Immediately implement the measures to ease political tensions in accordance with the Saint- Sylvestre Agreement (release of political prisoners, return of exiled political figures, particularly the representative cases addressed in the report on the easing of political tensions spearheaded by the CENCO [Interdiocesan Center of the National Episcopal Conference of Congo] bishops, reopening of media outlets and access to public media outlets, freedom of assembly, end of police and administrative disturbances against adversaries);
4. In the name of holding inclusive elections, allow genuine participation of candidates who have been barred or invalidated for political reasons;
5. Accredit and deploy observers from international bodies: the United Nations, European Union, SADC (Southern African Development Community), IOF (International Organization of La Francophonie) and others;
6. Accept political, financial and material assistance from the international community—namely, the UN, EU, African Union, SADC and ICGRL (International Conference on the Great Lakes Region)— to hold inclusive, peaceful elections;
7. Deploy a regional force from the SADC to secure the electoral process, the candidates and the population;
8. Allow substantive participation of MONUSCO (United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo) in the electoral process for logistics and the transport of equipment;
9. Reorganize and audit the CENI in accordance with what is decreed by the Saint-Sylvestre Agreement;
