Mulonga Water Hikes Tariffs

Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company has announced increased tariffs with effect from January 13, 2019.

According to the company public relations manager Deborah Kangende, the tariffs have been upped by seven percent.

Kangende said the upward adjustment had been approved by the National Water and Sanitation Council (NWASCO) for the period 2019.

Kangende disclosed that the bills to be sent out in February, 2019 will be based on the new tariff adjustments.

She said other charges such as Kiosk charges, vacuum tanker hires among others will remain the same.

Kangende said the adjustment has been effected to cushion the company from the inflation of operational costs in order to meet standard operational service.

Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company provides its services to Chingola, Chililabombwe and Mufulira Districts.

Peoples salaries have not been adjusted in years. The situation in mining areas is quite bad as miners conditions are poor. Where will the poor consumers get money to meet the adjusted tariffs? You are bringing down the fortunes of the ruling PF paarrttee.

Why in the first place they have to increase the tarrifs and which water sanitation council approved that is the water sanitation council the one affected by this but the stakeholders let’s be serious we should engage in customers and get their opinion on the matter the problem we don’t have credible leaders who should protect and defend the bill of rule
Let the pathetic water utility company improve on their services and deliver according to the expectation not just stealing peoples money
We cry as most of the MPs we have in the three towns are extremely usesless yes
