The matter in which National Democratic Congress (NDC) Consultant Chishimba Kambwili and 11 others are charged with unlawful assembly failed to take off before the Luanshya Magistrate Court on Monday.
Particulars of the offence are that Kambwili and 11 others on November 25, 2018 in Luanshya, jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown, unlawfully assembled with intention to carry out some common purpose and did conduct themselves in a manner to cause persons in the neighbourhood reasonably to fear that they will commit a breach of peace.
When the matter came up for commencement of trial before Ndola Principal Resident Magistrate Obister Musukwa who sat in the Luanshya Magistrate Court, defence lawyer Charistor Mukonka told the Court that Kambwili was unwell.
He said his client could not stand trial before court and further asked for an adjournment to allow Kambwili to seek medical attention.
Magistrate Musukwa then adjourned the matter to Wednesday, February 13, for commencement of trial.
Kambwili and 11 others pleaded not guilty to the charge when they appeared for plea.
