Chingola Cops Hunt for Criminals Who Raped, Killed 76-Year-Old Woman

Police in Chingola have launched a manhunt for suspects who killed a 76-year-old woman after allegedly raping her.

The incident is believed to have happened between May 5 and May 6, 2019 in which 
Albertina Chitekulu was found dead in her house.

Copperbelt Commissioner of Police Charity Katanga, who confirmed the development, stated that the deceased of Fipuya area in Chingola was allegedly found half naked by her neighbours.

She stated that preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was found with semen on her private part.

“Our preliminary investigations show that the deceased was allegedly raped because semen was found on her private parts. She also sustained marks of strangulation around her neck and bleeding from the mouth,” said Katanga.

A postmortem was conducted at Nchanga North General Hospital and the deceased has since been put to rest.
