Kambwili Opposes Reinstatement of Deputy Minister Positions

Embattled NDC president Chishimba Kambwili says reinstating the Deputy Minister positions and having Chinese teachers to teach Chinese in government schools is nonsense.

Kambwili said this at the Lusaka Magistrates Court shortly after magistrate Nsunge Chanda adjourned his case in which he is charged with contempt of court for allegedly tampering with the evidence in another matter where he is accused of three charges of uttering false documents, forgery and giving false information to a public officer.

Magistrate Chanda adjourned the matter to May 27 because the state witness, a Forensic expert who is in stand, has a bereavement.

The NDC Leader has wondered why government can think of bringing back Deputy Ministers and recruiting Chinese teachers to teach Chinese language in government schools when the same government has failed to pay salaries to teachers, Council workers, among others.

“Copperbelt is threatened with loss of employment and all you can think of is bringing back Deputy Ministers and when you fail to run a country, the best you can do is to resign. We have so many problems in this country. Expensive mealie-meal, people failing to afford to have three meals all you think about is to go and introduce Chinese in schools then  you can know that you have no leadership,” Kambwili has stated.

He said it is disheartening to learn that instead of creating employment for the local people, government wants to create employment for other countries

“Some  things muleibwelamo; obviously the teachers who will be employed to teach Chinese are the Chinese when your own teachers have no jobs, children complete schools tababa employed. You want to go and bring Chinese as teachers to teach Chinese,” Kambwili said.

Do you know that Chinese is the most spoken language in the world? More people speak Chinese than english in this world. Let our children learn it and have easy communication with these clever and hard working people.

I think this friendship is going too far! There things we should no take for granted. Thinking about it one wonders how Chinese people heard us when they built the Tazara and the current infrastructure before the Chinese language was taught in Zambia. Such things should worry every well meaning Zambian for posterity sake. Intermarriage, burial places, now importation of language and what next? A Chinese councillor?, MP? President?…. Indians have been here longer, why is Indian not being taught in our schools? Every other country we have economic, social or political relationship would be glad to have us learn their language. Similarly it would have been better to have each of our local languages taught in all our schools so that the issues of tribalism are dealt with. Away imperialism and colonialism. By the way I support the government of the day for many development projects it has undertaken but not making Chinese a language to be taught in our schools. Let it optional like French and others.

Since??? Stop spreading hearsay information! Can you list countries in Africa, Asia, Americas and Europe that teach Chinese. You need to understand how colonialism creeps in language, religion, intermarriage, burial sites, etc. Stop it! I don’t want my great grand-grand children to come and fight another liberation war because of this error in judgment.

The answer is No. This man is hypocrite, who before was dropped and the time he was a minister, no one could challenge ba Kambwili, he used ZNBC like he’s own company, ama press conference taya lepwa. Today he’s busy condemning everything that the Party, the President and the Government he put in place is doing. Kupeno uku and you can never have my vote bwana, look at GBM today? WE NEED A ZAMBIA WHICH IS SAFE FOR EVERY CITIZEN. A ZAMBIA WHERE THE PRESIDENT AND HIS MINISTERS’ MISTAKES CAN BE CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER MAKING THEM, NOT A ZAMBIA WHERE POILITICIANS IN POWER CAN DO MANY WRONGS BUT CITIZENS JUST HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT ELECTIONS. WAITING FOR THE NEXT ELECTIONS TO CHANGE GOVERNMENT ONLY INCREASES DAMAGE DONE IN THE 5 OR 10 YEARS OF CONTINOUS MISTAKES. IT IS VERY CLEAR, PRESIDENT LUNGU HAS WRONG ADVISORS, MAYBE THEY JUST WANT TO WRONGLY ADVISE HIM SO THAT HE LOSES POWER.

I’m not sure that we can find enough teachers in Zambia to teach Chinese language in all schools. Who pays the teachers?
My view is simply this: we would need special Chinese language teachers for students who want to go to Universities and colleges in China. Instead of them spending a full year in universities learning the Chinese language, it would be more cost effective to have 6 months ordinary Chinese course in Zambia, then another 6 months of specialized Chinese in China.
In the past, many Zambians learnt the French language, but have not utilized it at all. That’s what would become of those who would learn Chinese but have no capacity to travel.

Looking at on the surface it looks like nonsense but if you think of it deeply its a brilliant idea. Why? China sent its people to various developed western countries universities primarily to ‘steal’ their technology. Today China documents its technology in Chinese. If our children are to learn what China is doing in order to develop this country in the near future, its not a bad idea to learn the language of the second biggest economy in the world if not the first. Every technology China brings here is written in Chinese. Talk of the fibre being laid, power stations, roads etc.
