Chipolopolo in Cranes Challenge

The Chipolopolo return to action this afternoon (Monday) at the Four Nation Invitational Tournament when they tackle the Cranes of Uganda.

Both sides drew their opening matches with the Cranes holding Cameroon to a 1-all draw while Zambia battled to a 3-3 score line with Niger.

Chipolopolo coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic will continue refining his charges ahead of the Chan.

Micho who is a former Cranes coach will be meeting his former proteges although the bulk of the players in the Uganda squad were not part of the set up when he was head coach.

In the opening match Micho gave promising Prison Leopards shot stopper Charles Kalumba a starting place but may summon Lameck Siame for today’s assignment.

The backline that proved problematic on Saturday will also be in the spotlight the central partnership of Adrian Chama and Clement Mwape on the watch while Micho could give Dominic Chanda a running for the tussle today.

In midfield the hard men of Benson Sakala and Kelvin Kapumbu could be deployed to mop up things in the engine room while Collins Sikombe and Bruce Musakanya may be the attack minded midfielders.

Upfront options abound with Moses Phiri, Emmanuel Chabula and Roger Kola up for the challenge.

Zambia will play Cameroon on Thursday in the final match of the preparatory tournament.

The CHAN kicks off on January 16 with Zambia in Group D alongside Tanzania, Namibia and Guinea.

Zambia will be based in Limbe.

The match kick off at 17H00 CAT.

For as long as your back line cannot focus on area marking and not watching the man without the ball you will continue drawing or even losing at the chagrin of tax payers whose money funds your trips!!!

Our technical bench does not understand that when you are leading by 2 clear goals and are in the 2 half the midfield and the defence should not go beyond the centre circle!

Just look at the track record of the so called expert Coach…once coached Uganda…all the national teams he has coached are they football Giants ….NO ….Just exactly is it that is impressive….he is short tempered…which shows he is not a good Coach…fire him after this ….in the history of Zambian national team…only coach …..to draw from a 3:0 lead. What a fake expatriate coach…..local is laka

I miss kalaba and sunzu. I wish the game, stars Vs the rest could have accommodated a three team tournament with the 2013 Africa cup winners. It could have pulled over whelming supporters of the nation.
